The Nissan R390 GT1 was built to complete in the 24hr Le Mans in 1997 and 1998.
In 1997 three cars #21, #22, #23 (23 is NiSan in Japanese) were entered by Nissan Motor Sport with undeniably serious ambitions.
The R390 driven by Martin Brundle was the fastest of the lot in prequalifying and performed well in qualifying as well. The race, however, turned into an different story and the only surviving cars at the end of the 24hrs came in 12th overall.
