Special features of the Heller kit: 2 decal versions: - Air France - TWA - Trans World Airlines ------- In 1939, the Constellation project was launched at the request of TWA. This airline wanted a 40-seat transport aircraft. The prototype flew for the first time on January 9, 1943. Due to the state of war, the Constellation began its career under a military designation, C-69, and was used in the AIR TRANSPORT COMMAND of the USA - Air Force. After the war, the first two civilian customers were TWA and Pan American. The latter was the first airline to use its Constellation on the New York - Bermuda route. TWA, for its part, inaugurated the first USA - Europe connection on February 6, 1947.
