The A-10 Thunderbolt II is a single-seat, twin-engine jet attack aircraft primarily tasked with attacking tanks, armored vehicles, and other ground targets, or providing close air support. In modern warfare, it can perform forward air control and guide other aircraft to attack ground targets. It was the first dedicated ground attack aircraft of the United States Air Force. The A-10A variant is a single-seat ground attack version.
