Balsa wood is the worlds lightest commercial timber. The versatility of Balsa Sheet makes it a good fit for any model, craft or hobby project. Useful for craft and architectural modelling applications. Balsa offers the ‘real wood’ look and feel without the difficulty of machining that wood is known for.

Thin balsa sheets are easily cut with a hobby blade. For thicker pieces a saw is recommended; anything from a hand or hacksaw to a bandsaw or circular mitre saw is suitable. Balsa Wood cuts, shapes and sands easier than any other hardwood.

The porous nature of Balsa Wood means it accepts stains and finishes readily. Balsa works well with a wide range of adhesives - in particular Balsa Cement, Foam Tack Glue and Zap Goo.
