The MiG-29, which was developed as a front-line fighter, is smaller than the Su-27, which was developed at the same time. Even after the independence of Ukraine, it has been in operation since the former Soviet era, and has been modernized in recent years. The UB was introduced at the same time for conversion practice, and is still in use today.
