Bring some of the heaviest armour to your Soviet Armoured Platoons with the KV-1 heavy tank, or field the KV-2 variant, as a close support vehicle!

The KV – named after the Defence Commissar Kliment Voroshilov – was a pre-war tank that was thickly armoured all round but also very heavy at 45 tons, making it both un-manoeuvrable and slow. Initially, the 500 KV-1s in service caused the Germans immense problems as the heavy tanks were virtually immune to German anti-tank guns at anything other than point-blank range. This allowed KV-1s to literally overrun German formations in 1941, crushing useless 37mm PaK 36s beneath their broad treads. Some units were still equipped with the KV in the final year of the war, although in diminishing numbers as attrition took its toll upon the survivors.

In Bolt Action, this heavy tank mounts a medium-anti-tank gun in its turret, and a number of defensive MMGs. With the Armoured All Round special rule, it will be a difficult beast for your opponent to dislodge! Alternatively, you can build the KV-2 variant, sporting a heavy howitzer in its distinctive boxed shaped turret, and fulfilling a Tank Destroyer slot in a Bolt Action armoured platoon.Bring some of the heaviest armour to your Soviet Armoured Platoons with the KV-1 heavy tank, or field the KV-2 variant, as a close support vehicle! The box also comes with a sprue of plastic Soviet infantry poised to represent a Tank Riders squad (Armies of the Soviet Union, page 35), a small five-man squad armed with SMGs that can appropriate the KV as an impromptu transport! Box contains one plastic KV-1/2 Heavy Tank, a sprue of Soviet Infantry (6 men), decal sheet, and vehicle damage markers.
