History
Despite its armour, the Ferret Scout Car was not designed to engage enemy heavy armour. Instead, it relied on its low silhouette, speed, and stealth to make contact with enemy units, some of which were performing similar reconnaissance tasks. Venturing into contested areas, the Ferret was crafted to detect enemy presence without engaging in offensive actions.
Their mission was to transmit real-time radio updates to headquarters, and if they moved beyond radio range, a second HQ Ferret would relay their messages back. They provided military planners with crucial information, and if discovered, the Ferret could swiftly remove the crew from any combat situation.
As long as they were only under threat from small arms fire, they had sufficient protection until the driver could manoeuvre them back to safer territory at speed.
