The EMB-314 Super Tucano, also known as the ALX or A-29, is a turboprop-powered light attack aircraft capable of counterinsurgency, close air support, reconnaissance in low-threat environments, and pilot training. Designed for use in hilly and mountainous terrain and in hot and humid environments, the Super Tucano is highly maneuverable, has a low infrared signature, integrates avionics and weapons systems comparable to third-generation fighters, and can deliver precision-guided munitions. It is already in service with the air forces of Brazil, the Dominican Republic, Colombia, Ecuador, Chile, and Burkina Faso, and has also been used by Indonesia, Angola, and the United States.
